In 1914, the Biltmore opened and served up breakfast and brew at 7am for the overnight crews from nearby factories. It came with a four-lane basement bowling alley that was a local hangout for decades.
There was talk of a speakeasy during prohibition. The Biltmore was across the street from a regional rail stop and often hosted private events for dignitaries, politicians and celebrities. If the bar could talk, the stories would fill volumes!
Much of the original brick front and interior has remained the same over the many reincarnations of this legendary bar. The original old growth wood flooring has stood the test of time.
Stop by and enjoy a great meal, a cold beer and relax with your friends at The Biltmore.
In December 2014, The Biltmore went through a beautiful renovation which brought back the charm of the old building with a more comfortable vibe in the restaurant. Celebrating this neighborhood legend while serving up fresh new takes on classic dishes and drinks is what The Biltmore is all about. Our beer list is ever changing and our hand-crafted cocktails are always a hit. We have also partnered with Newburyport Brewing Company to have our own Pinky’s Neighborhood IPA made just for our restaurants.
